Technical Writer (m/f/d) (20–40h/week) – Fixed-Term Until 2026, Wiesbaden

Are you passionate about language and not intimidated by the command line, GitHub, or cloud infrastructure? Perfect!
As a Technical Writer (m/f/d) with us, you'll be responsible for crafting technical content that helps developers and decision-makers understand, evaluate, and act. Your focus will be on Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and open source. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, project teams, and a technical writer on the client side - all with the shared goal of delivering clear, precise, and audience-appropriate documentation.

This position is part-time (20–40 hours per week) and limited until 2026.

Your job

• Write and maintain technical documentation for developers and decision-makers in the open-source community
• Structure documentation logically, enhance navigation and content architecture, and bring clarity to complex topics
• Create supporting materials such as screenshots, diagrams, and short video tutorials
• Deep-dive into new topics, get familiar with open-source projects, and understand the community’s perspective
• Talk to developers, ask lots of questions—and explain things in ways that others can easily grasp

What you bring along

• Excellent written communication skills in both German and U.S. English, with strong language instincts and editorial precision
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Markdown, Docusaurus, Visual Studio Code, and the terminal
• The ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear, accessible text and visuals
• A solid technical foundation that enables you to quickly get up to speed with new topics
• Ideally, some prior exposure to Kubernetes and cloud technologies
• Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in figuring things out, challenging assumptions, and making them understandable
